Position: Bookkeeper (Accounts Receivable)
Job Description
Scope
The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper is responsible for the record keeping of tuition and fee accounts for the school system. This also includes preparing deposits for the bank and balancing accounts. Additionally, this position will also coordinate collection efforts with families which includes communication in person, by phone and via email.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Christian Academy
- Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
The ideal candidate shall have:
- 1+ year previous bookkeeping experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Receives and counts monies for tuition and other fees
- Inputs account information/payments for student accounts into computer
- Communicates with families and sets up payment plans using a third party vendor for tuition
- Monitors and follows up on delinquent student accounts
- Receives and counts monies for athletic/music/extracurricular events
- Prepares deposits for bank
- Balances tuition and fee accounts to accounting system reports
- Communicates effectively with staff members, students, parents and administrators using good judgment and appropriate methods
- Maintains confidentiality regarding student accounts

- Assure excellent stewardship of God’s resources in time, talent and treasure
Reporting Relationship
The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper is responsible to the Director of Finance.
