Position: Staff Accountant
Job Description
Scope
To maintain GAAP accounting standards for the Christian Academy School System.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy
- Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
The ideal candidate must have:
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in accounting
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with an automated accounting system
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- An extensive knowledge of Excel/Sheets and Word/Docs
- Ability to manage workload to meet multiple concurrent deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to carry out duties in a confidential manner
- Strong analytical skills
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Director of Finance to maintain GAAP accounting for non-profits
- Input monthly Journal Entries for the school system
- Work alongside the Director of Finance during the annual audit
- Assist Director of Finance with annual 990 tax returns
- Oversight and analysis of general ledger
- Manage credit card processing systems
- Special projects as assigned throughout the school year

Reporting Relationship
The Staff Accountant is responsible to the Director of Finance.
