Scope

 

The full-time, year-round Education Technology Integration Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining Christian Academy’s SIS (RenWeb) and LMS (Canvas), especially the dynamic integration between both systems. The Specialist provisions students and teachers with required digital content, such as user accounts and digital textbooks. This individual also serves key users (such as school office managers) of both systems by providing training, developing customizations (such as transcripts and reports), and writing documentation.  This individual seeks ways to utilize technology to make operations more efficient and effective.  The main location for this position is the English Station campus but will require occasional travel to all four campuses. 

 

Qualifications

 

The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:

  • A commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith.

The ideal candidate shall possess: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Apps (G Suite), especially Sheets and Docs.
  • Experience using student information systems and/or learning management systems.
  • Previous experience in education, especially in an environment serving teachers.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to find an answer when it is not immediately obvious.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience with, and commitment to, a strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

 Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Provision teachers and students with user accounts for online textbook/curriculum content
  • Oversee integration between SIS and LMS, including grade reporting and integrity
  • Work with curriculum team to anticipate technical needs associated with new curriculum adoptions
  • Work with vendors, especially educational publishers, to determine requirements for online resources
  • Complete seasonal tasks in SIS, such as gradebook setup, progress reports, etc
  • Provide training and support to those who are responsible for school specific grade reporting
  • Troubleshoot issues from the helpdesk in regards to SIS, LMS and other technology related issues
  • Provide parent support with SIS and LMS issues
  • Facilitate SIS input/import of testing data, including ACT, AP, DIBELS, TerraNova, etc
  • Handle confidential information in compliance with FERPA regulations

  • Teachers, students and parents supplied with necessary information to fully utilize all technology related items required for student success
  • SIS and LMS integration without interruption
  • Communication between curriculum and technology departments that promotes and encourages productivity

Accountability 

This position reports to the Director of Security and Technology.
